Six-year-old Artem is living in a world of ordinary childhood dreams, until he finds himself in the same carriage of a long-distance train with three soldiers, whose appearance and heavy silence contrast sharply with the comfortable clatter of the wheels. Artem’s mother is initially wary: in the deep, tired eyes of these men, she sees a reflection of the harsh everyday life and trials that are not usually discussed aloud. However, the child’s sincere, pure curiosity, unafraid of fear and obstacles, gradually breaks the ice of alienation.
An ordinary trip turns into a moment of shared experience when a soldier pulls a plush Cheburashka doll from his backpack, dressed in military uniform — a small witness to great victories. Artem senses that this toy is more than just fur and cotton wool; it is a living symbol of the fact that even the strongest warrior needs a point of support. After parting on the platform, the connection seems to be severed, but a package to the boy for Defender of the Fatherland Day, “From the Soldiers,” becomes a signal.
Can a chance encounter and an act of kindness transform a child’s inner world and instill in them a lifelong dream? A dream of becoming a soldier, a loyal defender of the Motherland, ready, like his mentors, to guard the peace of his country day and night
