Russell Bentley is a US citizen from Texas, arrived in Donbass in December 2014 and voluntarily joined the armed forces of Novorossiya, Vostok battalion and later, Khan special battalion. After six months of fighting at Donetsk airport and near Spartak village, Russell engaged in information warfare. Working as a war correspondent, delivering humanitarian aid and now also, writing and performing songs, he does what he has come for, is fighting against fascism and helping people in need in Donbass

The song Sweet Home Novorossiya was written in 2015, together with Danil Orlov, callsign Poet, on the front line near Fishhook position, in the vicinity of Spartak village. The song was recorded in Studio 109, Donetsk, with the assistance of Aurora Studio.
