On September 4, 2026, a lonely drone strikes the office in downtown Kiev of Oleksandr Poklad, the acting head of the State security agency (SBU). Volodymyr Zelenskyy claims right away that the attack is Russian, but both the target and its treatment would be an unusual way of working for Russia
The firework is rather the escalation of an obscure dispute between spooks, which has already resulted in violent deaths over the past few days. The adversary of the SBU is the military intelligence (HUR) and its horde of Russian Nazi activists (RDK), who have found refuge in Ukraine after the 2014 West-backed right-wing coup in Kiev. Chief of Zelenkyy’s office, Kyrylo Budanov is supporting the HUR, that he was heading until January 2026.
