Tehran (Quds News Network)- A senior Iranian official warned on Saturday that Iran may target Israel’s Dimona nuclear reactor if the war enters a new phase. He said striking US bases in the region would be easier than hitting deep inside Israel.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, the Iranian official warned the United States that entering the war alongside Israel would put its interests in the Middle East at “severe risk.” He stressed that any US military involvement would expand the war regionally.
The official said that Iran’s strikes on Israeli targets have been highly effective. He stated that the Israeli military is hiding the scale of the damage. “We have more advanced missiles than the ones we’ve used so far,” he said. “And we will definitely use them.”
He also stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps closely monitors Israel’s stock of interceptor missiles. “We plan our strikes to deplete Israel’s missile defenses,” he said.
Separately, the spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Command Center warned that any military or radar equipment sent by foreign countries to aid Israel will become a legitimate target.
He said Israel has already lost much of its radar and defense capability and now suffers from a shortage of ammunition and equipment.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also issued a warning on Saturday. He said Iran would exercise its right to self-defense if US President Donald Trump decides to intervene militarily. “We will respond to the US the same way we responded to Israel,” he added.
Earlier Saturday, US Vice President J.D. Vance said diplomatic options were running out. He added that President Trump will do what’s necessary to end Iran’s nuclear program.
Two US officials told Reuters on Saturday that the US has started moving B-2 bombers to Guam. The move comes as Trump weighs whether to support Israeli strikes on Iran.
On Friday, Trump gave Iran a two-week deadline, saying it was enough time.
The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Iran had prepared missiles and other military assets to strike US bases in the region if the US joins Israel in its aggression against Tehran.
Since June 13, Israel has launched wide-scale assaults on Iran.
In response, Iran launched ballistic missiles and drones toward Israel in what has become the largest direct confrontation between the two countries [end]
