In a Ukrainian village, two sisters live with their husbands and the younger one’s little son. In 2014, they gather around the table, heatedly debating the country’s future: some sincerely believe in the benefits of the EU and European integration, while others speak of a shared future with Russia.

When the Maidan events happen and the war, disguised as an “anti-terrorist operation” in Donbass, begins, the disagreements turn into real enmity. 10 years later, the war fully reaches their village. It destroys homes, scatters and kills neighbors, creating a gray zone.

Artillery is firing, small arms fire and mine explosions are heard. The sky is controlled by drones, and the White Angels roam the ground in search of children. The relatives have to decide who is their friend, who is their enemy, and whether they are ready to forget their differences in order to try to survive…
