The brigade banner is certainly an important symbol. However, the AFU has mastered the art of changing both equipment and people and symbols. Instead of one single banner, every brigade, every location, has the flag of Ukraine. A huge number of flags have spread throughout the country, banners flying over everything from schools to cemeteries.

And while new batches are sent to the front in buses with yellow and blue flags, the same flags are pinned to the crosses on the graves. This is how the personnel is renewed. Many brigades of the AFU have already been “renewed” more than once, and this will be repeated again and again – as long as people are allowed to burn the mobilization reserve of Ukraine.

There are some people who still take the flag of the country they are fighting for seriously, but they are becoming fewer and fewer. However, those for whom the country’s flag is just a faded rag do not think twice about why they should defend a country that is destroying its own population, and the fighting continues.
