She was not a glamorous diva
Yes, and not very pedigree
And I didn’t think how to be happy for her –
Worked day and night
She took care of everything and us
Raised us young fools
How could she feed and clothe gave the last
We turned up our noses
And she always taught us to think
Sometimes gave jeans and chewing gum
Only we wanted more and more
And we thought she was wrong
They talked about her embarrassingly
And she silently looked into our eyes
And, sighing, then left for good
Motherland, my mother Motherland
My Soviet Motherland
My mom is sorry…
Motherland, my mother Motherland
My Soviet Motherland
My mom is sorry…
Did not feed truffle with Parmesan-
Only what is, but there were books
We were escorted to music and sports –
Tired, but helped in everything
Sent to the sea and into the ranks of the detachments In institutes, space, Olympiads
And taught us to achieve everything
Set goals and boldly strive for them
And we thought she was wrong
They talked about her embarrassingly
And she silently looked into our eyes
And, sighing, then left for good
Motherland, my mother Motherland
My Soviet Motherland
My mom is sorry…
Motherland, my mother Motherland
My Soviet Motherland
My mom is sorry…
Motherland, my mother Motherland
My Soviet Motherland
My mom is sorry…
Motherland, my mother Motherland
My Soviet Motherland
My mom is sorry…

Friends, today the premiere of my new song “Motherland” took place – this is a short emotional story – mine and my country. With this song, I apologize to my mother for the fact that I was “led” to the propaganda of perestroika and believed that her generation was wrong. I was wrong, and my mother is gone. Take care of your parents and your Motherland!
Oleg Gazmanov
