On January 25, 2023, the Ukrainian press has written the obituary of Arkadiy Peschanskiy, a symbol of modern Ukraine, who has been killed on the battlefield around Bakhmut, still Ukrainian-occupied part of Donetsk People’s Republic.
47 years old, Peschanskiy was a veteran of the riots at Maidan square and the right-wing coup in February 2014, leader in Poltava of Nazi Svoboda [liberty] party, serviceman within its military branch, special police battalion Sich. He had been recently transferred to the 116th territorial brigade, likely in a punitive function, in order to prevent desertion.
He was displaying as a banner of his Facebook account the red and black flag of Nazi Pravyi Sektor [right sector] organization, with the portrait of Stepan Bandera, a Ukrainian Nazi war criminal during WW2.
